The Directorate of Elementary Education (DEE), Assam, has published an advertisement inviting online applications from eligible Indian citizens for the recruitment of Assistant Teachers in Lower Primary (LP) and Upper Primary (UP) Schools. This recruitment is aligned with the Right to Education Act, 2009 and aims to enhance the quality of elementary education in Assam.

1. Assistant Teacher (Lower Primary Schools): 2,900 Posts
2. Assistant Teacher (Upper Primary Schools): 1,600 Posts
Pay Scale
Lower Primary (LP): ₹14,000 – ₹70,000 + Grade Pay and other allowances.
Upper Primary (UP): ₹14,000 – ₹70,000 + Grade Pay and other allowances.
Eligibility Criteria for DEE Assam Recruitment
1. For Lower Primary (LP):
Educational Qualifications:
•Higher Secondary (HSSLC) or its equivalent with at least 50% marks.
•2-Year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed.), Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.), or Diploma in Education (Special Education).
•Must have qualified Assam TET or Central TET (Lower Primary).
Additional Weightage:
NCC Certificate:
•“C” Certificate: 5 marks.
•“B” Certificate: 3 marks.
Sports Achievements: 5 marks for participation/achievement in National-level recognized sports.
Cultural Achievements: 5 marks for participation/achievement in National-level fine arts and cultural activities.
Age Limit (as of 1st January 2025):
•General: 18–40 years.
•OBC/MOBC: Up to 43 years.
•SC/ST: Up to 45 years.
•PwD: Up to 50 years.
Language Proficiency:
Language-I or Language-II in TET must match the medium of instruction in the school applied for.
•For Upper Primary (UP): (to be announced)
Educational Qualifications:
•Graduate degree with at least 50% marks.
•Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) or Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed.).
•Qualified in Assam TET or Central TET (Upper Primary).
