Eligibility Criteria :

a) - for new CBCS

# For students passing out this year (i.e. 2023) under the new CBCS syllabus, there is no requirement of Honours//major course for admission to PG course in any discipline. You need a minimum of 24 (twenty four) credits in the concerned subject only (for conventional subjects) to be eligible for admission.

 

B) - for non-CBCS

# BA/ B.Sc/ B.Com (in 10+2+3 pattern) with Major // Honors Course in concerned subject OR BA/ B.Sc/ B.Com.(in 10+2+3 pattern) with at least 45% marks in the relevant subject as well as general pass course in aggregate or equivalent CGPA. [45% marks to be calculated on the basis of marks obtained in Part I and Part II of (2+1) pattern and Part I, Part II and Part III of (1+1+1) pattern are eligible University want to enter. However, some specific eligibility criteria have been prescribed by the respective departments and are applicable exclusively for interdisciplinary subjects.

 

C) # The admissions will be conducted entirely on the basis of Entrance Examination.

 

Reservation of Seats : 

• Scheduled Caste: 7%
• Scheduled Tribes (Plains): 10%
• Scheduled Tribes (Hill): 5%
• OBC & MOBC: 15%
• Differently Abled: 3% (for each Discipline of Faculty)

Sons and daughters of permanent GU Employees Quota:

# 1) for  Seat in each dept with intake capacity 40 or less and

# 2) seats when the intake is more than 40 students.

# Fringe Village: 15 seats

# GU Ex-Employees: 5 seats

# Ex- Defense: As per EC resolution

# Moran Community of Assam: 2 seats.

# Extra Curricular: 1 seat in each department.

# NCC & NSS: 5 seats.

# Economically Weaker Section (EWS): 10%

 

University-wise Seat Matrix (Revised) :

# 70% seats in traditional subjects are exclusively reserved for GU students and remaining 30% seats are open for students from other universities.

 # In case of interdisciplinary subjects, all seats are open to all students, irrespective of any university.

 

Entrance Examination :

Exam Duration  : 2(two)-hour.

Exam Type: OMR-based MCQ (multiple choice question type).

Number of Question : 100 Questions. For each correct answer, 1 (One) mark will be awarded.

Negative mark : while for each wrong answer 0.25 mark will be deducted.

Step 5 : At the last step, Make payment of your online application fee and submit the online form.

Step 6 : Take print out of your application form for future reference.
